Blog entry no.5 (Season finale): Something unusual which happened that day (2)

What do you do when you hear the hapless news of a cataclysm? You would undubitably skedaddle. But what if everyone darts in all directions haphazardly, leading to the calamitious catastrophe of a frantic stampede occurring? This is due to preparatory deficiencies such as a fire drill. Numerous accidents and disasters materialised due to the unsystematic way of evacuation. As the final blog post, I shall tell you about my blood-curdling experience that happened many years ago...

The architecture of Bluewater Shopping Centre in Denmark was certainly second to none. Everyday, a thousand and one avid shoppers will flock to Bluewater to grab the fabulous offers and discounts and the wide diversification of shops there. My family and I decided to visit Bluewater, one of the most famous tourist landmarks in Denmark. At every second there is bustling activity and jostling of anxious crowds to grab the discounts available. And whenever there is lots of big crowds, it would always be a potential attraction to a worldwide threat still going on till now: Terrorism.

However, there was so much activity that in a blink of an eye, we soon blended in the vivacious atmosphere. Suddenly, there was an announcement being made through the PA system, announcing that there was a bomb threat on Bluewater Shopping. In that split-second, the entire Bluewater became silent for the first time and everyone was rooted to the ground, breathing heavily. Then, all hell broke loose and pandemonium erupted in Bluewater. The person on the PA system was telling everyone to calm down, but it was no use. It seemed like another announcement was being made, but the sound was absolutely drowned out. The PA system had unmistakably sparked a vociferous hullabaloo. The fruit baskets were being flung in mid-air from all directions and the automatic entrance doors were jammed by the swarm of people fleeing for their lives. I stuck close to my family in order not to get lost. The sale of movie DVDs were clattered all over the floor as one preceded one to be stepped on and shattered.

Fire extinguishers and under furniture from the nearby furniture retail shop were used to hit the glass doors to allow for more space to escape. Soon the glass gave way, and everyone rushed out in relief. In the end, it was actually a teenager toying with the PA microphone and passing Bomb hoaxes. The teenager was arrested and brought to justice. There was much damage done but if fire drills were frequently carried out, then there was no need for such damage, of the fruit baskets, tables, chairs, sofas, table lamps, fire extinguishers, shattered entrance door, DVDs, boxes and flowerpots... This unusual incidents reminds us of the neeed for fire drills to be carried out.

Blog entry no.4: A special moment you enjoyed with your family

"You cannot choose your family. They are god's gift to you, just as you are to them..."

Spend an ephemeral moment all by yourself. Ruminate about all the special moments in your life. Ponder about all the special love given to you. Cogitate about who celebrates with you in exultation during your triumph and who succours you when you are in a state of anguish. Probably the first word that comes into your mind is:

Family. My birthday happened last week. This made me realise the warmth and affinity of a family. With my family members congregated around the table to celebrate the presence of me, I felt a priceless feeling that is irreplacable by any amount of money. That is the bona fide meaning of family.

Have you ever spent time with your family, to establish an intimate relationship with them? Have you ever contemplated about your unmindful acts or words to them? An event that happened last year made me realise the true significance of our families' gifts of love and the amount of reverence we should return to them. We should set great store by our family's transient time with us and not be penitent not cherishing the deficient time with them to get to know each other, to do what we did not in the past, to tell them we were compunctious to the solecism we displayed to them. We should therefore treasure the time we have with our family as before you know it, the time will be gone and your relationship with them will be shattered... or remembered.

Blog entry no.3: A problem and a Solution

ln our lives, there are bound for moments of exuberance and moments of melancholy, bound for problems and solutions. But one of the toughest predicaments of my life made me almost give up, but I overcame the impediment and through that experience, I learnt that "Tough times never last, but tough people do." And after that, I had became more tenacious in face of life's challenges. Let me tell you all about this momentous experience...
There is always a way out...
Feeling crestfallen, I took the examination paper from the teacher despondently. All my hopes of getting into a good secondary school were shattered into a million fragments. How could I fail my Mathematics paper? I stared at my inferior results and thought how was I going to face my parents' wrath. After school, I was pusillanimous to return home to be hollered at. I took a seat in the canteen and fought back my tears. But it was no use. Tears rippled down the side of my face. My was totally in a whirl as I blamed  myself for being so cretinous. I glared around at the desolate canteen as everyone had gone back to celebrate about their great achievements while I was still sitting in the canteen, woebegone.

Suddenly, the school principal materialised and asked me why I still in school at such a late hour. I hesitated momentarily, then told him the reason for my solitude. He understood me well and brought me to his office to show me a newspaper article for motivation. The newspaper article was about this disable man with no hands or legs and when he fell, it was not easy for him to get up. But he kept trying until he found a way to get up.

Feeling that he was in a worst scenario then me, and he could overcome it, why can't I? So I decided to continue to work hard and study in a more practical way and in the end did well for my PSLE, and got into a good school known as Victoria School.

Blog entry no.2: something that took place in school

Have you heard of the famous adage "All for one and one for all"? This saying epitomizes teamwork, that when one triumphs, the whole group celebrates and when one makes a mistake, the whole team suffers. That happens to be really vexatious when among the "white sheep" lies a "black sheep", like what occurred in our class today. Let me tell you about that in this blog...

The English lesson was moving on very smoothly, when the class "clown", Mack, could not resist the urge to blurt out something extremely jocular which resulted in everyone breaking out in guffaws and convulsions of hearty laughter. This caused to English teacher great annoyance and she had  to do her common ritual to control the ambience of the class and prevent it from going overboard. She drew a hangman on the board and then wrote the head of and the body... and the arms. The whole class immediately immersed in a blanket of tranquility and the English teacher continued the English.

However, it was not before long that Mack interrupted the class with another of his hilarious jests. The class chuckled continuously. Due to our class' perpetual recalcitrance, the English teacher drew the legs and the result was... detention for more than half an hour after school. This sparked a vociferous hullabaloo from the class and people stood out from their seats in rebellious protest. Tables and chairs were being kicked here and there and books were flung in mid-air. The hubbub in the class attracted the attention of Mr. Chia, the discipline master. Everyone settled down in their seats in sheer mortification.

In the end, the whole class had to serve 1 hour school cleaning. Everyone blamed Mack for being such a sabotage to the class. Mack felt sorry and vouched never to blurt out jokes at the inappropriate time. But despite being a "black sheep", everyone still likes him for his happy-go-lucky attitude and his famous jokes.

Blog entry no.1: Something unusual which happened that day

The Bermuda Triangle, Ghosts, Phantom ships, etc...

The number of unexplained supernatural phenomenons are just innumerable. Do you believe in such things, or are they personal hallucinations or even merely just a scheme created to get on the news? I personally did not believe in such superstitions, but a recent blood-curdling experience made me change my perceptions on such beliefs. Let me tell you all about it, but warning to all: this could seriously deprive you of your sleep...

I always returned home before 7pm. But because the Singapore Youth Festival, Central Judging of School Bands was drawing near, I had to stay till the night for intensive drilling sessions and vigorous training. Although my mother had sternly warned me not to return home too late, I did not heed her advice but brushed her words of caution to the wind. That... was my big mistake.

Feeling enervated, and my eyes on the brink of shutting, I flagged down every taxi, even though it was hired, which was like every one. Then, to my surprise, a 'Hired' taxi came to a halt beside me. I felt relieved, but dumbfounded. I thought I must been mistaken, as my eyes were giving away.

Soon, I fell into a deep slumber but was woken up by a sudden raucous jerk. The taxi door flung open and the taxi driver stretched his hand behind as if demanding money. But I realised the taxi had stopped outside a hospital instead of my house. Suddenly, the taxi driver took back his hand, the taxi door slammed close by itself. I pinched myself to ensure I was not dreaming. I must be crazy, I thought.

Still in a state of perturbation due to the appearance of the recent ghostly apparition, I could not think till the taxi turned into my house. And I jumped off, relieved. Was it my imagination or was it...? Was it a prank by someone, like this video below? You may laugh at this, but trust me, when you are in the scene itself, there's really nothing to laugh about. Its seriously frightening.

Do you see the candle above, click on it, its "not" supposed to be moving, but if you see it moving then...!? Just joking, its supposed to be moving! Now watch the video and have a good laugh!

My thoughts about blogging

Do you like blogging?
Staying in front of the computer may not be necessarily anti-social, if you post blogs. I think that there a many unusual and interesting things that happened to our lives, and blogging is the best way to share our mistakes and experiences with the society. It also helps us to express our thoughts and opinions about some topics, like blogs, which I am doing now. Blogging enables us to learn and improve our English grammar   and language. Blogging is a very effective way of sharing our experiences and it     also enables people to provide feedback on our blogs.                                                                                                 However, blogs can be very boring to some people as they think at chat rooms are a   more effective way of communicating, but blogs are open to the public to view. I like blogging as it is very interesting as compared to listen to teachers teach English in class although it serves the same purpose.
